Functionality and mode of action of Digestive Fiber

Dietary fibres are primarily components of plant foods. They are present as so-called polysaccharides, usually long, tasteless sugar chains or, more precisely, "non-starch polysaccharides". These food components play an important role in our diet.

According to different data, the total requirement of dietary fibres is 38 g daily for men up to 50 years of age and 25 g daily for women up to 50 years of age.
